Fred Dreher was born in St. Louis in 1908, and was a graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Washington University. He participated in over 72 group exhibitions and was the subject of 34 one-man shows. He received 18 awards for sculpture, mobiles, batik, and watercolors. His work is represented in numerous public and private collections. Dreher received commissions for sculpture and mobiles which are installed in a number of public locations, including Nellis Air Force Base and the United Nations headquarters building. For many years Mr. Dreher was chairman of the art department of John Burroughs School. He retired from that position in 1970.
