The Bentley Historical Library Polar Bear Project began in 2004, and includes the digitization of the library's manuscript collections documenting the U.S. 339th Infantry and related units, who fought in northern Russia in 1918-1919, the "Polar Bear Expedition," and the compilation of a roster of the soldiers who fought in northern Russia.
