Cooke family.
Members of the Cooke family, from Culpeper and Rappahannock counties, Virginia, emigrated west to Illinois, Iowa, Missouri. Alfred, the father, was persuaded to move west by letters from sons Thomas and William. He taught school in Benton County, Iowa.
