Charles A. Hardin, a resident of Harrodsburg, Ky. and an unsuccessful candidate for Congress, served a term of 10 years as commonwealth attorney, and was then elected as circuit court judge of the Thirteenth judicial district of Mercer County for 22 years (1910-1932). Following his retirement from the bench, Hardin was appointed chairman of the Democratic State Central committee by Governor A.O. Stanley.
