Amorphia (Organization)

Amorphia was a cannabis cooperative founded in 1967. In 1969 it merged with two other drug law reform organizations, LeMar International and the Marijuan Research Association becoming the the nation's first cooperative venture aimed at eliminating the current marijuana laws. The cooperative was responsible for organizing the 1972 California Marijuana Initiative, Proprosition 19. The intitiative, which would have repealed laws against adult use, possesion, and cultivation of marijuana, received 335 of the the vote. Amorphia would became the California branch of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) in 1974.
