Burlington Trades and Labor Assembly.
The Burlington Trades and Labor Assembly was chartered in 1890 to unite unions in Burlington and Des Moines County. It grew to include more than 40 unions in Des Moines, Lee, Louisa and Henry Counties. Burlington Building and Construction Trades Council represented unions involved in the building trades; and Burlington Labor Activities. Inc. was in charge of the Burlington Labor Temple. The temple housed all three groups, a tavern, and space for meetings and social activities until it was sold.
