Oesterreicher, John M., 1904-1993
Variant namesBorn of a Jewish family in Moravia, Oesterreicher was a Catholic priest who had worked in Vienna until the Anschluss in 1938, when he fled to France; he emigrated to the U.S. in 1940. He founded the Institute of Judaeo-Christian Studies at Seton Hall University in 1953.
