David H. Jackson, U.S. Naval officer, was born in Smackover, Arkansas, on 5 June 1917. He was a 1941 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and was in the USS Preble on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. In 1945, he was attached to the USS Vincennes. A naval engineer, he was assigned to Buships, served at the Norfolk (VA) naval shipyard, and in 1966 was CO, Naval Ship Repair Facility, Subic Bay, P.I. He was a 1958 graduate of the Naval War College. He retired from the Navy in 1974 and graduated from the Virginia Theological Seminary three years later. He served parishes in Alexandria, VA and Seattle, WA, and died on 14 March 1994.
