Jerri Watson Bass is her family's historian, collecting documentation and memorabilia of her family members. Many of her male relatives served in the military. Hardy Scarborough was a Confederate soldier who died in Savannah in 1863. He regularly corresponded with his illiterate wife, Malvina. Other Civil War relatives include Joseph and Antoinette Watson of Enterprise, Ala. Thomas "Ace" Watson and his brothers served during World War I, as did Isaac D. Collier, Sr. Isaac "Ike" Watson, II, and Jerry Watson both served in World War II. Photos also picture Alma Scarborough, wife of Ace Watson, Verda Lee Lambert, wife of Isaac Collier, Sr., and Martha, Louise, and Mary Nell Collier, sisters of Isaac Collier, II.
