Seneca Indian chief and son of Maj. James Stevenson, a British army officer who during his thirty-year career served as a captain and major with the Sixtieth Regiment of Foot in America. Residing after the Revolutionary War in Upper Canada, James Stevenson (son) died in 1846 on the Cataraugus Reservation in New York.

From the description of Know all men by these presents that whereas James Stevenson late of London ... sometime major in His Majesty's Sixtieth Regiment of Foot did by his last will and testament give and bequeath unto one James Stevenson of the Seneca Tribe of Indians warriour now residing and living near to Newark in the county of Lincoln in the province of Upper Canada the interest of a certain sum of three hundred pounds ... : Newark, Upper Canada, power of attorney, 1796 May 3.
