Haviside Company.
The company was founded by J.J. Haviside, Sr. as Haviside Company, a rigging company. The company evolved into a ship chandler and then a heavy cargo handling operation. The company used heavy lift derrick barges and was involved in cargo movement and the salvage business. In 1901 the company was called J.J. Haviside & Son, Ship Riggers and was located at 44 and 26 Steuart St. in San Francisco.
