Missionary and Christian worker; born June 24, 1941; attended Wheaton College and BIOLA; met George Verwer and traveled with him into the Soviet Union, where they were arrested and expelled for distributing Christian literature, 1961; married, 1964; he and his wife were stationed in Istanbul, Turkey, with Operation Mobilization; expelled from Turkey, 1966; reassigned to Beirut but was evacuated during the 1967 Six-Day War in the Middle East; earned M.A. from UCLA; taught at Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO, 1968-1978; rejoined OM in 1978 to work with the outreach of the ship DOULOS; assigned to the OM international office in England; returned to Turkey in 1986 and was expelled in 1987.
