Professor Alpheus Sanford was graduated from the University of Maine with a B.A. degree in 1947. While attending the University, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and to Phi Kappa Phi. He received his M.Ed from Boston University in 1954 and Ed.D. in 1959. He was appointed to the College of Education faculty (Counselor Education) in 1958 at the University of Maine and retired from there as Professor Emeritus in 1991.
