Rush Society for the Correlation and Support of Medical and Biological Lectures in Philadelphia.

Hide Profile

"The Rush Society was founded in 1914 [i.e., 1912] largely as the result of the activities of Richard M. Pearce.

It lapsed with World War I [i.e., ca. 1917], to be resumed in 1925, to continue its functions as: 1) a medical lecture information bureau ... About 1929 or 1930, activities were greatly diminished. When the Secretary, Dr. [E.S.] Thorpe, Jr., moved [away], the Society passed out of existence." E.B. Krumbhaar, memorandum, Apr. 29, 1946, herewith.
