The Navy Mothers Club held its first meeting in 1942 as a support group for both the parents of naval personnel as well as those men serving in the U.S. Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. The club elected its first officers in 1943. The club sponsored various projects to raise funds to help needy members and provided assistance to Navy hospitals through sewing projects. The Las Vegas Chapter was very active within the national organization and had local women elected to national offices.
