Paul Aldermandt Porter (b. Oct. 6, 1904, Joplin, Mo.-d. Nov. 26, 1975) was an attorney and diplomat. He served as special counsel at the Department of Agriculture from 1932 to 1937; deputy administrator in charge of the rent division of the Office of Price Administration from 1942 to 1943; administrator with the War Food Administration; associate director of the Office of Economic Stabilization, July 1943 to February 1944; and campaign publicity director of the Democratic National Committee in 1944. He was appointed a member of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and designed chairman in 1944; and appointed administrator of the Office of Price Administration in 1946. In December 1946 he was appointed chief of the American Economic Mission to Greece with the rank of ambassador. In July 1949 he had the rank of ambassador as the U.S. representative on the Palestine Conciliation Commission. From 1961 to 1962 he was a member of the President's Commission on Campaign Costs.
