Craven, David, 1951-2012
Variant namesDr. David Craven has degrees in Art History from Vanderbilt University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been on the faculty at Duke University, the State University of New York at Cortland and currently is a Professor of Art History at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Craven is recognized as a leading authority on the art and culture of the Nicaraguan Revolution, and his studies of Diego Rivera and Cuban art since 1959 have been widely celebrated. He has written 5 books and co-edited a 6th, while publishing many articles and review essays in the leading publications of 12 different countries. He has also given public lectures in English, Spanish and German, in over 40 different universities in Europe, the United States, Canada and Latin America and has been invited to lecture and write catalog essays for some of the world's foremost museums.
