Frank Albert Allen, Jr. (June 19, 1896-Nov. 20, 1979) was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his commission in the infantry reserve in August 1917, and served witht he 77th Field Artillery during World War I. After achieving the rank of general, Allen commanded the Third U.S. Armored Division from July to November 1945. He retired from Army service in November 1956.
