Jastremski, Leon, 1843-1907
Leon Jastremski, a Polish-born Louisiana politician, journalist, and newspaper publisher, served as mayor of Baton Rouge, 1876-1882. He was chairman of the state central committee of the Democratic Party, 1884, United States Consul in Callao, Peru, 1893-1897, and an unsuccessful candidate for governor of Louisiana in 1903-1904, and in 1907.
