Edwin Theodore Williams was born in 1826 in Savannah, Georgia. He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1853. He served as a PCUSA missionary in Monrovia (Liberia) and Corisco until ill health forced him to return to the United States in July 1859. He served as stated supply in Bryan County, Georgia, in 1862, and as pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Florida, from 1862 until his death in 1866.
