Von Ploennies family.
Franz von Ploennies was the son of Friedrich W. von Ploennies, the Imperial German Consul in Brisbane at the turn of the century. He was Honorary Secretary of the Brisbane Goethe Bund, a society which aimed at fostering German literature and which was active in Brisbane between 1927 and 1939.
