Chaney, Henry, 1808-1885.
Educator and librarian. After a career in the east, including 15 years as professor at the University of Detroit, Chaney moved to Detroit where he began the Detroit High School, and served as its principal, and served as the first librarian of the Detroit Public Library (1865-1878).
