Charles A. Rawson, of Des Moines, was president of the Iowa Pipe and Tile Company. He completed William Kenyon's term in the U.S. Senate, 1922; served as chair of the Republican State Central Committee, 1912-1922; and was a member of the Republican National Committee, 1924-1932. During World War I Rawson was in Paris as part of the American Expeditionary Forces YMCA district headquarters. He also raised money for the 1924 U.S. Olympic team; was a trustee of Grinnell College; was president of the Roadside Settlement House Association in Des Moines; worked as an officer of the Eldora Pipe and Tile Company and the Des Moines Brick and Tile Company, and as director of the Des Moines National Bank.
