The Rt. Honble Robert Lord Clive, William Brightwell Sumner Esq., Brigadier General Carnac, Harry Verelst and Francis Sykes Esquires were appointed to constitute a Select Committee in order to restore peace and tranquility to the Company's affairs in Bengal (per instructions of the Company's general letter under date 1 June 1764).
