Hanson, Lester E.

Lester Eugene Hanson was born on March 31, 1912 in Willmar, Minnesota. He earned his B.S. from the University of Minnesota in 1936 and his M.S. in 1937 and Ph.D. in 1940 from Cornell University. Professor Hanson was a member of the faculty at the University of Nebraska from 1940 until 1950. He joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1950 as professor of animal husbandry and served as head of the department from 1956-1966. Professor Hanson retired from the University of Minnesota in 1980. He was well known for his research in animal nutrition. Lester Hanson died in February 1985.
