Dixon, William Y., 1843-1874.
William Y. Dixon, son of Methodist minister Thomas F. Dixon (1818-1906), was a student at Centenary College in Jackson, Louisiana before, and after the Civil War. He was a soldier in the Confederate Army, serving in Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia and became a schoolteacher in Columbia, Caldwell Parish, Louisiana after the war. His brother, John Wesley Dixon (b. 1837) also served in the Confederate Army.
