Sweetser, Henry E. (Henry Edward), 1837-1870
Variant namesHenry Edward Sweetser was an American journalist, probably best known as the co-founder of The Round Table. Born in New York and educated at Yale, he worked as a merchant for a short time before becoming a reporter for the New York Times. He next served as night editor of The World, and founded The Round Table in 1863 with his brother, Charles. He left The Round Table for a trip to Europe, and returned to New York shortly before his death to work as an editor.
