Harold Morris (1890-1964), pianist, composer, and educator, was born in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas in 1910.
He earned his master's degree from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 1922. A renowned soloist and recitalist, Morris toured frequently and had many of his compositions performed. He played with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, among other notable events. Additionally, Morris taught at the Juilliard School of Music, 1922-1939; Columbia University, 1939-1946; the Castle School in New York; and the University of Texas.
