Nevada Governor's Conference for Women.
Two Nevada Governor's Conference for Women were held: in Las Vegas, 1987; and in Reno, 1989. The goal was to bring together women of diverse interests and backgrounds; to provide a forum to discuss issues and challenges; and to inspire solutions that would advance skills, opportunities, and interest. Keynote speaker of the 1989 Reno conference was Jihan Sadat, widow of Anwar Sadat, President of Egypt.
