Illinois state senator (Democrat, Chicago) from the 19th district (1979-1982) and the 5th district (1983-1986).

Born in Chicago, Nedza attended school there and at the University of California. A marine corps veteran of World War II, Nedza was a resident engineer with the Chicago Department of Public Works. While state senator Nedza served as Chicago's first deputy commissioner of aviation, assistant water commissioner and assistant commissioner of streets and sanitation. In 1987 Nedza was convicted of extortion after a federal investigation into Chicago's business licensing and code enforcement system. He married the former Tina Pretzer, with whom he had 2 children.
