Harshbarger, Gretchen, 1906-
Variant namesProfessional landscape architect, author, and photographer; author of The flower family album (1940) and McCall's garden book (1968); garden editor of Household magazine and American homes; president of the Garden Writers' Association of American and the American Hemerocallis Society; recipient of numerous national and local awards for her contributions to horticulture. A resident of Iowa City, Iowa, Harshbarger is noted for founding Project Green in that community. She died in 1989.
