Samuel Hanson Ordway, Jr. (1900-1971) was a lawyer, author, and conservationist. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1924 and practiced law in New York City from 1925-1958 and was also a civil service reform advocate in New York City and in the federal government. Ordway was a founder and board member of the Conservation Foundation and wrote several books on conservation, including The Intellect is a Brute (1929), A Conservation Handbook (1949), Resources and the American Dream (1953), and Prosperity Beyond Tomorrow (1956).
