William M. Lunch was a faculty member in the Political Science Department at Oregon State University from 1984 until his retirement in 2011 and served as Department Chair from 2003 to 2011. He specialized in American government with emphases on environmental policy, public opinion and elections, and Northwest regional politics. During his teaching career, he developed courses in the Politics of Science (PS 476/576) and the Civil Rights Movement and Policies (PS 375). He received the 1987 "Outstanding Professor of the Year" award for his excellent teaching. In 1988, Lunch began serving as a political analyst for Oregon Public Broadcasting on radio ( Oregon Considered ) and television ( Seven Days ) programs.
