Sherman Hazeltine was born in Prescott, Arizona in 1907. After graduating from Prescott High School and receiving his bachelor's degree from Stanford University, he began his service with the Bank of Arizona. He eventually became President and Chairman of the bank and, when it merged with the First National Bank of Arizona, he became that institution's first president. He also served on the board of directors of many businesses and public organizations. He has an active interest in education and history and maintains memberships in many societies and associations.
