Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (Sisters, Or.)
In 1975, Rev. R. E. Ylvisaker retired from the active ministry and settled in the community of Sisters, Oregon. Noting that there was a need for a congregation in this small community, he began holding services in November of that year. By the last Sunday of that month the people had decided to organize as a congregation of the ALC. In 1978 a chapel was erected, and since that time an addition has been built. There are currently about 150 baptized members of the congregation.
