Variant namesBorn in Dresden on May 21, 1874, Ernst Wolf emigrated to the United States in 1892 and died in New York City on January 15, 1960. He was a chemist and worked on both the East and West Coasts. The documents in this collection that he is descended from family of Lazarus Wolf (Wolff Lazarus), a court Jew ( Hofjude ) associated with the Saxon court at Dresden.
