Born in Hartest, Suffolk, England, in 1908, Mabel E. Jordon immigrated to Canada in 1922 and arrived in the East Kootenay area in ca. 1937. A great deal of her adult life was spent investigating, reporting and researching topics of historical interest in the East Kootenay area and more generally, British Columbia. She was President of the British Columbia Historical Association for three years. She published articles in the British Columbia Historical Quarterly, the Cranbrook Courier, and the Nelson Daily News.
