Lewisohn, Edna, 1908-
Variant namesEdna Manley Lewisohn was author Ludwig Lewisohn's second wife. They met in 1939, when she was working as a journalist, and were married from 1940-1943; she had become enamored of him through reading his books while convalescing with tuberculosis. They co-authored Haven, an account of their custody battle for Lewisohn's son from a previous relationship, and she inspired some of his other works from this period, as well as writing novels and plays of her own.
