Hamilton family.
Hamilton family of Fayette County, Va. (now W. Va.). Represented in the collection are Thomas B. Hamilton (1794?-1859), lawyer and clerk of the Fayette County Circuit Court, 1833-1838; his wife, Elizabeth S. Hamilton (b. 1808?); their son, James B. Hamilton (1830?-1864), of Hawk's Nest, surveyor and Confederate political prisoner; and James's wife, Matilda (Young) Hamilton Mitchell.
