Organizational History

The Printmaking Workshop was founded in New York, N. Y. in 1948 by African-American artist and printmaker Robert Hamilton Blackburn (1920-2003) to provide studio and gallery space, equipment, and instruction in printmaking and allied crafts to aspiring and experienced printmakers.
