Appointed museum curator at New Mexico State University in 1998. Prior to earning a doctorate in Anthropology from University of British Columbia in 1979, Reynolds conducted extensive research among the Eastern Navajo of northern New Mexico. She then held teaching posts, including lectureships at California State University and University of Denver, and directed both the Museum Studies Program and Museum of Anthropology at the University of Denver.
