The Synod of Alabama was erected as an Old School presbytery in Alabama in 1835 by the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. It withdrew to the Presbyterian Church in the Confederate States of America in 1861 and transferred to the Presbyterian Church in the U.S. in 1865 ; dissolved 1973.
