McMillan, James B., 1917-
Variant namesJames Bryan McMillan was raised in a small farming community in Robeson County, N.C. He attended the University of North Carolina and received a law degree from Harvard University. In 1968, he was appointed U.S. district judge by Lyndon B. Johnson. Based in Charlotte, N.C., McMillan handled cases on a wide variety of subjects, including nuclear reactors, prison standards, housing, noise pollution, annexation, and public and private racial, sex, and age discrimination.
