Blackie & Son (India) Ltd was formed in 1926 as a subsidiary of Blackie & Son Ltd , publishers, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, Scotland. The company was run from the same office in Bombay, India, as the India branch of the Gresham Publishing Co Ltd , also a subsidiary of Blackie's. It would appear that the branch of Gresham's was merged with the Blackie office to form Blackie & Son (India) Ltd in 1926. The company was still functioning until at least 1965 .
