Private First Class Elmer F. Martin was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. Martin was educated in several Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. After training at Camp Croft, South Carolina, he was assigned to I Company, 275th Infantry Regiment, 70th Infantry Division. Martin was wounded twice in combat following the Battle of the Bulge. He was discharged from the U.S. Army on 2 August 1945.
