This scrapbook was assembled by Earl Spangler during his basketball career at Seattle University from 1946-1950. At six feet five inches, Earl played a dominant center on a team that included Bob Hedequist, Elmer Spiedel, John Sollars, Don "Spud" Janicke and Norm Willis. Under Coach Al Brightman, Earl topped all scorers in his final 1950 varsity season with 338 points in 29 games. Over a four year period, Earl's record totaled 1169 points. Earl and "burly" Bob Hedequist played with future All-Star freshman twins, John and Ed O'Brien in the 1950 National Amateur Athletic Union Tournament in Denver. A team photograph with a trophy celebrating tournament play is included in this collection.
