Howell family.
The principal members of the Howell family were: John Beatty Howell (1847-1924), Presbyterian minister and missionary to Brazil; his wife, Elizabeth Hibler Day Howell (b. 1850), author of children's literature; and their children, Archibald Alexander Howell, II (d. 1918), Princeton graduate and physician; Lawrence Day Howell, Princeton graduate, missionary to Peking, China, and World War I soldier in France; and Isabel Howell Thatcher, poet and author.
