Ferdinand Lathrop Mayer (1887-1986), foreign service officer, was counselor to the Legation at Ottawa in 1928, at Lima in 1929, and at Brussels and Luxemburg in 1930. He was an adviser to the General Disarmament Conference in Geneva from 1933 to 1935, and counselor of U.S. Embassy in Berlin in 1935. He served as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Haiti from 1937 to 1940, and served with the Office of Strategic Services in Washington, D.C. from 1942 to 1945.
