Paige, Clara P.

Clara Paul Paige was a family case work supervisor and public welfare administrator. She worked at the Cook County Bureau of Public Welfare from 1927-1945, directing Family Service for the Chicago Relief Administration during the Great Depression, and later administering the County's entire program. In this role, she developed a professional relationship with social workers in the private sector, at United Charities of Chicago, and at Hull House.
