Hoosiers for the Equal Rights Amendment (HERA) became a state-wide coalition in 1973, seeking to promote the equal rights amendment through public education, lobbying, and working with other sympathetic groups in the state. Even though the organization disbanded ca. 1976-1977, its efforts contributed to the ratification of the amendment in Indiana in 1977.
